Digital Director - Washington, DC

Senator-elect Lisa Blunt Rochester seeks a creative and dynamic Digital Director to run an aggressive online outreach strategy and serve in her Washington, D.C. office. A part of the communications team and reporting directly to the Communications Director, the Digital Director will work collaboratively to develop innovative creative social media and online content that highlights the Senator-elect's work in Delaware and Washington, D.C. Responsibilities include developing long-term and short-term digital strategies, drafting original content and regularly posting to social media accounts, creating shareable infographic and video content, developing and managing the office’s website, and assisting in producing the Senator’s online newsletters.

Applicants must have a deep understanding of how digital strategies and technologies integrate into the Senator-elect’s goals, work, and communications in Delaware and Washington, D.C.—as well as how digital tools and platforms can be used to communicate and engage on complex issues to multiple audiences. Applicants should have photo/video shooting experience and be familiar with photo and video editing software. The ideal applicant is entrepreneurial, comfortable working and executing on tight deadlines, detail-oriented, imaginative, and a strong writer. This is not an entry-level position. Two to three years of previous digital communications experience, on Capitol Hill and/or campaigns, or at a communications firm, is required.
